Biased and misleading newspaper trashes Business Perthshire

Full response to the PA article and the Perthshire Chamber attack coming soon. Also announcing next week. Perthshire Business will be brought to you by JihenJedi and DeeDeeTee. Standing in for Richard Morgan who is standing in for you.

Stop: Richard Morgan will also be co-hosting this website.

On Tuesday 4th October 2005 the Perthshire Advertiser published an article based on the premise that Perthshire Business and Business Perthshire have a detrimental effect on the area to attract inward investment businesses. Interesting theory?  The journalist never asked for an opinion here, so expect the story to be slightly biased. towards the council and the chamber of commerce.

If that's the case. Have Perth and Kinross council wasted thousands of pounds of council tax payers money on an ineffective branding strategy. Both websites were born with a passionate appeal for all business to live, thrive and survive with the support of the local authority and the chamber of commerce. The chamber of commerce were the first business organisation to deny support to the local graphic design companies in the tender dispute with Perth and Kinross council. It appears the chamber of commerce doesn't intend to support all local business equally.

It's a fact Jack that Perth and Kinross Council and the local chamber of commerce have let the business community down badly for several years. There has been little support for business growth locally for a lengthy period. In last February's Courier the council announced that for some projects the skills, talent and expertise were not availably locally. It was then later revealed that the Perthshire G8 magazine project was not up to the standard required for a national branding exercise.

The accompanying Perthshire cd was published incomplete. It's hard to believe a professional publishing company allowed the cd out of the building. More difficult to believe that an experienced council employee happily signed for it as complete. No apologies have been forthcoming from the local authority or councilor Alan Livingstone for comments made in the press at that time. Remember the skills, expertise, outwith the area blah, blah, blah. (news section) (magazine debrief)

It is now apparent that Perth and Kinross council do not have suitably experienced personnel working in the communications and economic development departments. Experienced personnel should have easily dealt with both websites a long time ago.  Instead they chose to put their heads firmly in each other buttocks and hoped it all went away.

When the Perthshire Advertiser is looking for a scape goat for the economic problems in Perthshire they should lay the blame squarely on the door step of Perth and Kinross council or the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce. Perthshire Business and Business Perthshire will publish all comments for open discussion. We believe there is no privacy in public accountability they work for you. You are the people who pay their wages. That makes you a major shareholder in Perth and Kinross council. The Council Tax payer has a right to expect competence from senior council employees.

One rule to bind them all and in the darkness find them
At the time of the Perthshire G8 magazine tender dispute the council, councillors and Chamber of Commerce directors were quick to label the Perthshire graphic design companies as unprofessional for airing their opinions in public. F*CK ME. The same people are now airing their dirty washing in public over Perth and Kinross councils failure to secure money from the £8.5 million city growth fund. Very unprofessional, feckless c*nts. We expect to see some time in the future senior council officials standing in the city square carrying their personal effects, with a large boot print on their arse.

Chamber bloopers
After spending the members hard earned cash on a new website the chamber then chose to update the site with some colourful errors. If you visit them theres a lot of entertainment to be found. Have fun...

After running an article on copyright theft the Chamber then decided to steal their Terms and conditions from the London Chamber of Commerce and change the word London to Perthshire.
