Dust Clouds on the Rise
Perthshire Business continues to
increase visitor traffic at the constant rate of 14% per quarter. Our overall
traffic ranking has risen 308,344 places in the search engines during the
last 3 month.
Readership figures for the last quarter were 3,900 people.
Visitor breakdowns include 64% UK, 18% Germany, 11% USA, 5% Hong Kong and
2% from the rest of the world. The average visitor now reads 5 pages before
leaving. 28% of visitors stay longer than 5 minutes. Our visitors are interested
in local business, Perth and Kinross council, Perthshire chamber, touring
around Perth and general tourism.
Our local tourism pages have been deliberately left blank to allow Perthshire
guest houses, hotels, restaurants and other local attractions the opportunity
to advertise their business for free.
Best Value Practise
How much is it costing to send two council officers and Councillor Alan Livingstone
to New York Tartan Week 2006. The official approved figure is £38,000
for three people. Slightly more than the council spent on a promotional magazine
for the G8 Summit. Lets hope they are taking the leftover (7,000) magazines
from the G8 Summit with them.
Where's the Best Value in the £38,000 bill to the taxpayer?
VisitScotland were allocated £300,000 of local money to promote Perthshire.
Have they spent it already?
Thought we already paid for Councillor Livingstone to visit China?
Perthshire Business priced an 11 day junket in the Big Apple for three:
Flights £900
Accommodation £4000
Misc food, travel,lager etc. £5000
Total Cost £9,900 Stand

Abolishing the Bridge Trolls
The Dundee
Courier is currently running a campaign to abolish the tolls on the
Tay Road Bridge and the Forth Road Bridge. Both bridges are important to
the economic development of Perthshire.
Why did the Lord Provost of Perth vote to raise
the tolls to £4 last January?
