Hypocrisy goes only so far

On the 23rd of february 2005 Perth and Kinross strongly denied any suggestions that decisions to allocate design and marketing projects are made on the basis of anything other than a clear, rigorous and transparent procurement process. Information acquired under the Freedom of Information act has shown the council are more than economical with the truth. Take the time to cross reference the FOI documents with previous statements released by the council in the local press. Previous press information for the G8 tender project is available in the news section

FOI document list

Document 1 (107kb)
Lists of companies invited to tender for new media work with Perth and Kinross council beginning January 2002. (note: does not include council partners)

Document 2 (46kb)
The final 6 companies tendering for the Perthshire G8 publication

Document 3 (107kb)
FOI request for the name of the company the tender deadline was moved for (note: The council instructed the other companies the deadline was changed and never asked as indicated in the document)

Document 4 (5.5mb)
Contract for Perth and Kinross News, contract and costs for the Sorbus website, proposal and costs for the G8 publications.

The 2fluid tender proposal was possibly not available under the FOI because the company had correctly spotted the pitfalls of submitting a tender document to the council. This proposal was correctly marked with a written disclaimer identifying the document as commercially sensitive.

Fortunately a google search for 2fluid sorbus puts the tender proposals into the public domain.

The documents were provided under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
